Youth Group
Hi, my name is Tim Miller. I am the youth director at First Baptist Church of Monroeville, an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh. We have a group of youth who attend several of the local junior and senior high schools, and we would love to make new friends with youth who are the same ages.
Many people have asked me, "What is life about? What are we here for?" and I have provided this statement from a Christian catechism as an answer.
Question: What is the chief end of man? What are we here for?
Answer: Man's chief is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
A short explanation of this is that, the more one enjoys a relationship with God, the more he or she can enjoy his/her own life. Some of the things we can enjoy are peace and joy, no matter what our life circumstance is. Another benefit is a supportive relationship with a loving God and His Church. I would be glad to talk to anybody about these statements, which are based on Christian scripture.
Our ministry is to help youth gain the benefits of a relationship with Christ. We do this through Bible studies and devotionals. Besides these, we also enjoy activities such as skating, bowling, movies and winter and summer retreats, and we are open to suggestions.
If you have any questions about the youth group or First Baptist Church of Monroeville, please contact us or come visit. If you attend a local high school, you may already know some of us.
In Christ,
Tim Miller
